THURISAZ

Thurisaz is commonly associated with Thor and his hammer Mjölnir, who's the chief defender of Asgard and Midgard, the realms of gods and humans, against giants and trolls living in Jötunheimr.

Almost all of Jötunheimr's inhabitants are aggressively disposed to humans and Ases (gods). They send foul weather like hail, snow, storms, and landslides down the world. And that's what Thor's hammer is necessary for.

Time and again, Thor goes back on his promises to the giants and rips up agreements, whereas the giants honor the treaties to the point. Whenever Ases make a treaty unthinkingly, and the payback time comes, they call for Thor.  And he smashes the giant's head merely because he's a giant (take, for example, the story about the building of a wall around Asgard). He never lets anyone or anything stand in the way of doing what he believes to be right and necessary. If the course of events doesn't coincide with his view of what is right and what is wrong, Thor violates all agreements. And although the injustice of his actions is undeniable, it's these actions that bring salvation to Asgard and Midgard. 

That is what Thurisaz is all about. Even when it promises something, the rune will break its promise if it finds that the agreement goes against the higher cause. Remember this when reading this rune.

Thurisaz cannot do with disobedience and doesn't hold back on its manifestation. It is an uncontrollable force that takes little account of anyone and abides by its inner logic. It's almost impossible to influence or overmaster it. Its goals are mostly honorable but can stand in glaring contrast to your wishes. However, if your goals are the same, Thurisaz will take all the dirty work without question.

The rune signifies that you've entered on the path of challenges. Everything depends on you alone. The situation requires reflection. Don't attempt anything until you've made a calculated decision. Take your time to debate the matter in your mind, or else, you will create even more problems instead of solving them. Measure twice, cut once. You might think that you took a stroke of fate, but, in fact, it was a minor pinprick. Fate just wants you to pause and notice that you are on the verge of missing your chance at happiness. Just now, hastiness is your enemy both in your career and personal relations. Focus on analyzing your experience.

Take it slow. Reflect and wait. It's time to postpone any activity and reconsider the situation. When you've finished both, enter the "gate". A new path is ahead of you.
