— My name is Stacia, and I am a textoholic.
I confess: I can do any topic, English or Russian, custom order or my own idea.
Here’s how I got here:
My 5-grade teacher got me addicted to text. We wrote about any possible topic. I mean it: from my favorite plushie to a make-believe interview with a celebrity, from the difference between kind and kind of kind people to the justification of the heroes in “A Feast in Time of Plague” by Alexander Pushkin.
At the uni, my addiction only got worse. I wrote about icon painting, eczema, generation gap, the pill, Albrecht Dürer woodcuts, Presidential elections, color symbolism in Fitzgerald’s books — and all of these in Russian, English, AND German.
I thought: “I’ll graduate, get a grip on myself — and quit it.” As if! Things only got worse: I stayed at the uni and started to get my students hooked on writing.
Then I decided to put a stop to it and went to work at a private firm. I shut everyone out. I was the only copywriter on staff. It was then that I started doing ALL sorts of text I could lay my hands on:
- emails,
- horoscopes,
- trivia quizzes,
- recipes and cooking articles,
- Spanish grammar and vocabulary sets,
- environmental longreads,
- and the most hardcore kind — articles about AI in marketing.
A dozen voices kept speaking in my head, day after day. I tried to get rid of them a thousand times, I thought they were making my life a misery. And then I realized: I was trying to give up something that has long become my true calling!
So, I’ll say it again, and I’ll be proud to say so: my name is Stacia, I am a textoholic, and I'm blessed to be creating interesting reads for you!
